Zac Posen Pre Fall

"The dresses are just AMAZING." gushed Leah.
"Gorgous, you need to see them, the Pre Fall Zac Posen Collection."
Leah isnt the type that cares ever so slightly about the latest runway shows, so hearing this from her assured me, this had to be good.
And For once, Leah was right. I loved the dresses, the whole collection was lovely.
Zac said the theme of his collection was "poodle ballet" that already sounds amazing to me, but the way he did it, it wasnt too strange, puffy, or "poodly" But the colors, the ideas, they where all simple, wearable, but still high fashion.
A few of my favorite looks:

This dress, in a way, reminds me of the Jessica Mcclintock dresses all the aberzombies wear to prom, but it catches my eye in a way those dresses dont. Maybe its the colors, or the thought and detail put into it, that you wone be getting on a $100 dress. It like a prom dress, but upgraded.

Wow. This top, this top is just so, wow. The colors are beautiful together, and very random, not used much elsewhere in the collection. Which i like. It looks almost like she is a "forest fairy" with leaves drped over her chest. Very different compared to the charcoal greys we expect from spring [like in the Akris Collection ]
And although i cant afford it, i have a good feeling that before i know it, forever21 will have their own version of this top.

When i think of fall, i think of, cold breezes, chilly nights, and what better for a time like that, than this adorable look? It looks extremely comfy, like a wool sweatshirt, but still fashionable. the Perfect blend.

here we go, a soft ballerina pink. on a simple satin dress, with totally awesome details. It almost reminds me of something Jackie Kennedy/ Jackie O would have worn. And the little bow in the middle is just the icing on the cake [or should I say bow on the present?]

My favorite of the collection. simple, elegant, a little bit funky. what more can we ask for? Without the coverup, it would be bit dull, but the coverup with the sheer, matador type sleeves really shakes things up.

Overall collection rating: 9 [loved it, but could get a little too plain]

I'm so behind.

I FINALY Got around to checking out the couture collections
sheesh, i'm slow.
So here is what i have to say about a few of them:
Anne Valérie Hash- Wow! A couture collection, that for the most part... can actually be worn! [Of course, we all love the crazy, creativity put into couture dresses, but its just refreshing to see actual clothes] Besides the black sheer dresses. I m normally fan of sheer things, and showing of the human body, which is art itself. But to me, the black sheer dress seemed almost, well, trashy, AND cheap!

surprisingly, though, my favorite look also included sheer, but it was only a sheer top, and it covers you in just the right places: Image and video hosting by TinyPic
And i just felt the need to add in this dress, since i love the color. Its the only bright yellow garment in the collection:

Overall, i liked the collection quite a bit. It was very practical, yet still completely adorable.

Chanel- As always, the chanel suits where cute and classic. But I am still in awe about the fact that all the model's feet where adorned with... FLATS! It gave off a very stumpy look.
I normally like crazy things, some of these dresses where just to crazy for my taste:
the black dress reminded me of playing dress up as a child, and the white one was just very ill-fitted. [is that a phrase?] and the last was just odd. And reminded me of a Seahorse.

As i said before though, there where some nice, classic yet creative suits, and there where quite a few dresses that i absolutely adored, heres a few:

Christian Lacroix-
I'm usually a fan of Christian Lacroix, but i though this season the collection was too awkward and mis-matched. Each outfit made me feel as though they MUST have been designed in the dark. what do you think?

I was a huge fan of the Valentino Final Collection, it seemed to vary quite a bit from outfit to outfit, almost as though he wanted to please everyone with his final collection. All the pastels where stunning, and it was all so ladylike, i loved it all!

In fact, there was only one dress i wasn't completely in love with, it had too much of an old fashioned, Souhern Belle, look to it, far to costumy:

Ellie Saab:
Sure, the first few looks where gorgeous, but the collection was very monotanous, and i was soon bored with the repeating cuts, and all the bling. A few Dresses like this would have been great, but it just seemed to be a sparkle overload...

there where also many slightly bedazzled, colorful gowns, but they where for the most part in my opinion, very much a-like. But in every collection there is always at least one dress you have to love, and in the Ellie Saab collection, this is it.

And My Favorite [actually, probably everyone's favorite}:
Christian Dior- I completely loved it! Everything. I was all so colorful, and ll the different silhouettes where magnificent, and don't forget all the intricate beading.
Dior=Love.
p.s- don't forget the hats, i want one!

Ahh, how nice it would be to be a couture designer. In constant competition to see who can be the most absolute ridiculous, crazy, and weird.
I'd so win in that type of contest.
